Calabar South Residents Commend Ayade Over Roads and Gully Intervention

LAGOS MAY 10TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Prominent elders and residents in Calabar Metropolis have applauded the State Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade, for what they described as giant strides recorded in the state in the last two years of his administration and for the intervention work of the deep gully erosion at Yellow Duke/Atamunu which almost eroded the road.
Residents maintained that the intervention would not have come at a better time than now as the gully had eroded the drainage channel and is almost destroying the road.
They posited that, considering the lean financial status of the state, the projects of the Governor, particularly the Calabar Garment Factory that has already employed over three thousand Cross Riverians, the Rice City, Calapharm, Mfom – Okuku – Abuochiche – Obudu – Obudu mountain resort highway, Banana Processing factory, Cocoa processing factory, toothpick manufacturing factory, Rice seeds and seedlings factory, and several others are very laudable.
Making their commendations, Bar. John Ironbar stated that “the governor has displayed a high level of managerial skill in embarking on the numerous projects ongoing in state with the lean resources coming to the state, it only takes a man of deep vision to carry these project’s”.
Ironbar added that “the intervention of the gully erosion and other road projects scattered across the state is laudable”.
Speaking further, an Elder Statesman, Chief Iyamba Asuquo, a resident of Calabar South expressed delight over the governments intervention on the gully erosion and other projects located in the Calabar metropolis.
” I want to appreciate the governor on the intervention of that gully which has been a concern to us living here, I also want to particularly appreciate the governor for all the big projects he cited in the Calabar metropolis namely the rice city, the garment factory, Calapharm and the power plant. This has tremendously changed the landscape of Calabar and indeed Cross River State”.
Speaking further, Chief Iyamba Asuquo said “Ayade has shown he is a true statesman, he cited those big industrial facilities in Calabar even though he is not from this senatorial district. He will always have my support and that of the people of Cross River South Senatorial district”, he added.
According to him, projects conceived by Ayade’s administration are such that would transform the socio-economic landscape of the state.
