2019: PDP Chieftain, Onuesoke Mobilises Nigerian Youths For PDP

Chief Sunny Okpako Onuesoke

LAGOS MARCH 13TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Cheftain, Chief Sunny Okpako Onuesoke has appealed to Nigerian youths to join and rally support for PDP so as to regain their lost glory in Nigeria.
Making the appeal while addressing delegations of youths who paid him a courtesy visit recently at his office in Warri, Delta State, Onuesoke observed that having done a periscopic view into the affairs of Nigeria’s major political parties, it is apt to state that it appears the PDP is one political platform that is ready to thrust the youths to greater heights in its affairs.
He recalled that from his research, it is observed that major stakeholders in the PDP which include ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, PDP Governors, current PDP National lawmakers led by Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, Minority Senate Leader, Godswill Akpabio, ex-Governors, ex-Ministers, ex-National and State lawmakers, current and former members of the PDP NEC and BOT, are all in tune with the decision that the PDP like never before needs the youths now or never to reposition the party ahead of its political future in Nigeria.
Onuesoke who was a former Delta State governorship aspirant pointed out that there is need to encourage and support the candidature of vibrant PDP Youths who have thrown their hats into the ring to contest for various offices in line with the recommendation of Senate Deputy President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu 2015-Post Election committee which advocated for active participation and encouragement of youths in steering the affairs of the party.
According to him, “Nigeria is endowed with young talented people who are doing great in their various fields, name it, Engineering, Science, Arts, Education, Trading, Agriculture, Entertainment, Fashion, Banking, Entrepreneurship, E- commerce and Divinity among others, except in Politics. The only party that will give them opportunity to develop in politics is PDP. The party has done it before and ready to do it again if giving the opportunity to emerge as the leading party at the central.”
He argued that if the Nigerian youths can put aside all their differences for the first time and form a majority power block within PDP, a new and prosperous Nigeria where innovative ways of acquiring education, healthcare, agriculture, polity, policy, politics and wealth for all will spring up.
“If the young people of Nigeria can for the first time come together under PDP to forge a common front, the youths will benefit more. Let’s look at it this way, if the majority of youths which constitutes about 78 percent of active electorates and voters in Nigeria decide to queue under one umbrella which is PDP with serious ground work by taking ownership, shunning other political parties who will ordinarily use them as political thugs to snatch ballot boxes, or for rigging elections, they will be moving closer to power to their own advantage,,” he stated.
Onuesoke advised that youths should not just come together for coming together sake, but they should choose a think tank that will be responsible for drawing up policies, programmes, development map, campaign manifestos, charters and how to scale all the barriers the old men have set for them, adding that the only way to achieve the aforementioned objective is joining the PDP.
“I sincerely hope that the youths will seize the 2019 elections to make a remarkable difference since the invention of our democracy.” Onuesoke advised.
